Skou retiring from Maersk
CEO Søren Skou, who led the transformation of the A.P. Moller-Maersk group from a diversified conglomerate to an integrated logistics company and set the business on a new growth trajectory, is now retiring.
Chairman of the board Robert M. Uggla said that “Søren has contributed to our group’s development for almost forty years, of which he spent eleven years as CEO of Maersk Tankers, four years as CEO of the Maersk Line and seven years as CEO of Maersk. During this latter tenure Søren was instrumental in redefining Maersk as a customer-centric, end-to-end logistics provider and a global leader for sustainable transport solutions.”
Vincent Clerc, CEO of the company’s ocean and logistics business activities, will succeed Skou as CEO of Maersk on 1 January 2023. (ah)
