Six firms to assess biomethane use in Hokkaido
A group of organisations, including Hamanaka Town, JA Hamanaka, Takanashi Milk Products, Hokkaido Gas, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, and MOL Sunflower, have launched a joint study on producing and using biomethane from animal manure at dairy farms in Hamanaka Town, Hokkaido.
The study aims to evaluate the feasibility of using biomethane as a low-carbon fuel alternative in factories and vessels. The initiative is part of efforts to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, leveraging existing infrastructure for transport and consumption of biomethane. (pb)
