Six additional shunting locomotives

Manufacturer Alstom will supply and maintain locomotives from its rental pool for Südwestdeutsche Landesverkehrs-AG (SWEG) in Germany.

The recently signed framework agreement provides for SWEG to gradually increase the number of locomotives maintained by Alstom over the course of 2021 to initially four and later six locomotives. Alstom will take over the maintenance of the engines at its site in Waibstadt, close to SWEG's network in Baden-Württemberg.

Initially, SWEG will deploy one BR203.1 locomotive in Gammertingen and one BR1002 Prima H3 hybrid shunting locomotive in Offenburg in its freight operations. The full-service rental contract includes, among other things, a 24-hour on-call standby and a mobile service. (ben)
