AAL Shipping (AAL) is pushing ahead with its business reporting and to this end recently released its ‘Sustainability Report’ for 2022. In it the shipping line shares elements of its efforts in the environmental, social and governance field (ESG).

The report shows up AAL’s efforts to reuse, reduce and recycle materials in its global network, and its involvement in the EU-funded 'NH3 Craft' project to develop a high-volume storage solution for liquid ammonia on vessels, with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2050.

Felix Schoeller, AAL’s director and the head of the carrier’s sustainability committee, said that the report “details aspects of AAL’s operations and also highlights the team of professionals the line employs, and the systems, processes, and extracurricular activities developed to support them.”

The line is already accredited with the relevant ISO certificates and its internal sustainability reports measure its progress. (cd)
