Singapore's new port opens sooner
Since import and export shipments in the Oceania region are being delayed due to continued, extraordinary congestion at transhipment ports in Singapore and Malaysia, measures have been taken to ease problems for carriers and shippers.
Singapore recently announced that it is opening part of its new mega-port earlier than originally planned. From 2040, Singapore will have an annual capacity of 65 million teu, compared to today's 50 million teu. (sh)
