Silk Way West wins award in South Korea
During its fifth annual award ceremony, South Korea's Incheon Airport (ICN), one of the world’s biggest air cargo hubs (see upcoming ITJ 19-20/2021, "Aviation supplement", p. 13) honoured Silk Way West Airlines with the prestigious 'cargo airline of the year 2020' award, recognising the company as the best air freighter, with up to 25,000 t of international cargo turnover.
Two years after its beginnings in Baku, Silk Way West Airlines began operations to ICN in October 2014. Since then, the company has achieved a strong sales performance on its route to this major Korean hub, focussing on operational excellence.
