Silk Road captured on film
Kopf + Lübben Cargo Services has been offering transport services on the Silk Road since the beginning of regular rail traffic between China and Europe. With the company's support, artist Paul Kolling and filmmaker Jack Wolf have created an exhibition on this link between the East and the West to be visited in Hamburg's railway station.
With specially built projectors an exposed digital image of the entire train route is transferred onto a 300 m long film. Over the course of 16 days, this film track moves through the exhibition hall and thus visualises the required travel time.
The projectors enlarge individual picture details. The exhibition gives a new view of the rail link between Zhengzhou in China and Hamburg in Germany. It will remain open for visitors until 19 July. (ben)
