Significantly more perishables pass through Valenciaport
Valenciaport, the port authority of Valencia (APV, Spain), improved its performance in the export of perishables in 2019. Fruit and vegetables handling has grown above 21% this year, reaching 644,000 t so far, and could achieve volumes greater than 800,000 t at the end of 2019.
Reefer traffic services are offered by the three major shipping companies that are present in the port of Valencia through its three container terminals (Maersk, MSC and Cosco). Specifically, the Iberian CSP terminal has 1,500 reefer connections and APM has 750 links for this type of container while MSC has 576 connections.
These infrastructures in the container terminals are complemented by the Agro Merchants Group warehouse that provides 16,000 sqm exclusively for the logistics of refrigerated products and a 17,000 sqm border inspection post that, through the guarantee mark, ensures that any container that is taken to these facilities must be checked in less than 45 minutes.
