Sievert banking on silo business
Sievert Handel Transporte (SHT) is enlarging its service portfolio again by taking over Bavaria (Germany)-based Schmitt Silo Express's silo positioning business. SHT is primarily using the acquisition to reinforce its presence in southern Germany and increase supply reliability and flexibility for the shipping industry.
Rui Macedo, SHT’s managing director, pointed out: "Industry-specific solutions are our core competence. This takeover enables us to increasingly offer these services in Bavaria.”
The acquired silo positioning division includes six silo plate vehicles, twelve semi-trailers and seven Schmitt Silo Express employees. SHT will retain Schmitt’s location near Uechtelhausen for the time being. Both companies agreed not to disclose the cost of the deal. (mw)
