Siemens sells logistics business
Siemens has announced its intention to sell Siemens Logistics to Vanderlande, making the automation specialist a long-term owner of the business.
Owned by Toyota Industries Corp, Vanderlande focuses on logistics processes and solutions for the warehousing, airports and parcel sectors. This adds a complementary portfolio to Siemens Logistics’ baggage and air-cargo expertise.
The companies will now seek to create further offerings in airport logistics, leveraging automation and new hardware. Siemens, meanwhile, can focus on its own business development post-sale. The business, valued at EUR 300 million, is expected to be sold in the course of next year, 2025, as always subject to regulatory approvals.
“Together with Vanderlande and our committed global teams, we look forward to bringing fresh impetus to the airport industry and to supporting our customers’ business with future oriented technologies,” says Siemens Logistics’ CEO, Michael Schneider. (mk)
