Shuttle supports Swedish forest industry
TFK Logistics is establishing a rail service from the terminal in Bastuträsk in northern Sweden to the APM Terminals in Gothenburg. The new shuttle is a long-awaited addition to Rail Port – the network that connects the Port of Gothenburg with inland terminals in Scandinavia, APM Terminals said.
The shuttle to Bastuträsk will initially depart once a week, but soon after the summer it plans to increase the frequency up to two weekly departures. It will ensure smoother logistics flows for the Swedish forestry industry while reducing climate impact.
The maiden train, loaded with 42 containers, recently completed its first run from Bastuträsk to the APM Terminals Gothenburg in 24 hours. (ben)
