Shorter transit times to Romania and Turkey
In response to increasing demand, ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) is introducing a new non-stop service: containers (20 to 45 feet), swap bodies and craneable semi-trailers, including hazardous goods, now travel non-stop by rail from Genk (Belgium) via the Ruhr region in Germany to Curtici (Romania).
The new train runs according to a fixed timetable in both directions three times a week. With the existing onward connection from Curtici to Istanbul, the new Transfer link shortens the previous transit times between Belgium and Turkey by about one day, RCG says. (ben)
