Serbia–Montenegro Rail links progressing
The reconstruction of a 210 km rail link from the Serbian city of Valjevo to the country’s border with Montenegro is going ahead as planned, with RZD International designing the project. A supplementary agreement to an existing contract was signed recently by Serbian Railways and RZD International.
The implementation of this project will create a fully-fledged transport corridor, with access to the ports of the Adriatic Sea. RZD International has been carrying out modernisation and construction of the Serbian railways since 2014. The company has already completed reconstruction of the Belgrade–Pancevo and Resnik–Valjevo sections and the construction of railtracks on the Jejelev bridge.
In other news, RZD International also delivered 27 Russian-made multiple-unit diesel trains to Serbia recently. (ben)
