Screening canines nose around boxes

The recent launch of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) third party canine (3PK9) programme, a variation of the previously established certified cargo screening facility (CCSF) programme, is mentioned in an interview with Brandon Fried, executive director of the US Airforwarders Association, published in today's ITJ 05-06/2019.

Shipco Transport is on the forefront of integrating explosive detection canines solutions by leveraging this newly established certified cargo screening facility K9 (CCSF-K9) into its operations. On 28 December 2018, the company had its first 14 t K-9 screened at its facility at New York EWR airport.

This allows the company to build and tender full ULDs which results in a later cut-off and freight being less prone to damages and delays, reducing rates as well. (ah)
