Schenker's profit exceeds EUR 1 billion

DB Cargo and DB Schenker, Deutsche Bahn's railfreight and logistics divisions, are on the upswing. DB Cargo carried 6.3% more goods by rail in 2021 than in 2020. Transport performance rose by 7.9% and operating performance on DB's rail network by around 4% to 1.1 billion tkm.

The balance sheet for the logistics subsidiary DB Schenker looks even better. According to the group report, the provider made substantial financial gains despite a volatile (corona) environment. It also expanded its portfolio of climate-friendly transports using biofuels.

In 2021, Schenker drove record sales of over EUR 23 billion and a record ebita adjusted profit of EUR 1.845 billion, up EUR 538 million from 2020. (ben)
