Schenker launches shipping solution

DB Schenker is launching a new supply chain monitoring tool for the shipping sector, contributing to safety and reliability in sea freight tracking. Dubbed “Ocean Bridge”, the product consists of an interactive map with AI-based data and analytics which enables users to access ships’ departure, docking and arrival times.

The map visualises container information and uses telematic data as well as algorithms to enhance reliable timings. Customers can thus optimally plan their supply chains to avoid additional transport costs caused by delays, demurrage and detention and keep track of potential disruptions.

Eva Grieser, director data management & architecture, sea freight, DB Schenker: “Ocean Bridge dynamically links extended data from the event chain with artificial intelligence. This enables our customers to take preventative measures before challenges arise, thereby avoiding costs.” (mk)
