Saving 150,000 litres of diesel per year
Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) has supplied Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling (RCCB) in California with 20 zero-emission, battery electric Freightliner eCascadia Class 8 tractors.
The vehicles operate with a tank-to-wheel 100% all-electric capability and will reduce diesel fuel consumption by 150,000 litres annually. The acquisition aligns with RCCB's broader initiative to cut carbon emissions by 30% by 2030, the manufacturer said.
RCCB exclusively relies on 20 Detroit eFill charging stations at its Downey facility. The Freightliner eCascadias offer a quick recharge time of 2.5 to 3 hours for 80% capacity. It provides a range of around 249, 354, or 370 km. (ben)
