Saudi Arabia completes new rail link
With a special ceremony, the Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) has celebrated its new constructed rail connection linking country’s East Track with the North Track. The new line is 124 km long. The operation is expected to start in Q1/2023.
The rail line will serve the industrial facilities in Jubail Industrial City and extends from Sadara Co. in Jubail to King Fahd Industrial Port and Jubail Commercial Port in Jubail.
More than six million t of liquid and solid materials will be transported annually from King Fahd Port, the local press reported. Three storage lines, three railway bridges and seven road bridges have been built along the new rail link. (ben)
