Sass takes on MD role at KDS

Stefan Sass has been recruited as the new managing director of the Committee of German Seaport Freight Forwarders (KDS) within the Federal Association of German Freight Forwarders and Logistics Operators. He replaces Kurt-Jürgen Schimmelpfeng, who held the post for 17 years.

Sass has been managing director of the Hamburg Freight Forwarders Association (VHS) for four years. That trade body has also assumed the management of KDS.

The committee is tasked with the efficient and purposeful representation of Germany’s seaport and seafreight forwarders interests in transport policy and other shipping-related associations in the maritime sector. KDS encompasses the seaport transport associations in Bremen, Hamburg, Lubeck and Rostock. (mw)
