Santos is back
Brazil's Port of Santos witnessed a major rise in volume in 2021. From January till July, overall cargo throughput grew to 88.9 million t, 6% more than in the same period last year.
July 2021 was particularly strong in container volumes, which rose by 23% over July 2020 to 397,000 teu. Total box volumes in the first seven months of 2021 are at 2.8 million teu, an increase of 19%. The Port of Santos accounted for 28% of Brazil's international trade in July. (cd)
