San Marino carrier expanding cargo fleet
13 months after receiving the AOC of the Republic of San Marino, San Marino Executive Aviation (SMEA) has started operating the first of its two Airbus A330-300 cargo planes, which joined its fleet last month. The aircraft is registered as T7-ULS, to remind observers of the name of its co-owner, ULS Airlines from Turkey. The other co-owner, Seres Aviation, specialises in aviation assets and insurance. T7-ULS can carry a 59 t payload. The second A330-300 will join the fleet in August 2021.
Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic the company's first plane, an A300-600RF with a 47.5 t payload, carried out more than 600 medical flights with a dispatch reliability rate of 99.8%, carrying health equipment and medicines all over the world (except to the Americas and Australia). The addition of two A330-300s increases SMEA’s capacity and product range. SMEA pointed out the importance of San Marino’s civil aviation authority, one of the major contributors to its success. (ah)
