Samskip expands shortsea portfolio
Samskip has launched a new shortsea container service connecting Santander, Tilbury and Rotterdam, set to begin on 2 April. Operated once a week, the new offering is cost-competitive with road-ferry alternatives, while also providing good reliability and lower CO2 emissions.
The service is backed by Samskip's presence in Rotterdam and the UK, and a new office in Bilbao (Spain), supporting the Santander-Dublin-Liverpool route. The service will call at the BMT Santander terminal, offering advantages along the stormy northern coast. With this expansion, the shipping line aims to enhance door-to-door services to the UK and Europe. (pb)
