Saab converted freighters diversify fleet
Jetstream Aviation Capital, a Miami (USA)-based aircraft lessor specialising in commercially-operated regional turboprop aircraft and the largest global owner of Saab 340 and Saab 2000 aircraft, has delivered two Saab 340B(F) cargo aircraft to Castle Aviation of North Canton, OH.
The aircraft with a cargo volume of 35.8 cbm are the first of a four-aircraft commitment and will be used for ad-hoc cargo charter and scheduled operations for a major international logistics integrator.
Founded in 1984, Castle Aviation now operates a fleet of 14 aircraft for passenger and cargo charter and long-term contract operations. Castle is currently completing a 5,570 sqm facility at the Akron-Canton airport (CAK).
In 2004, Castle was the launch customer and world's first operator of the Saab 340A(F) converted freighter. (ah)
