Russia's fifteen projects in the Far East


According to information from the Russian news agency Tass, Russia’s Far Eastern seaports will be expanded. As statistics showed, the current annual cargo turnover of seaports in the Far Eastern Basin amounted at 131.2 million t (down 0.9% compared to the year before).

 

It is planned to increase the cargo turnover capacity of ports in the Far Eastern Basin by 117 million t through fifteen throughput capacity expansion projects, Russia’s deputy transport minister Dmitry Zverev said. Speaking at the ministerial transport conference of landlocked developing countries held in Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan) in mid-August, he added: "The existing port capacities currently amount to 300 million t per year.” (sh)
