Round table to improve access to rail networks
Switzerland's rail transport commission Railcom has carried out its first survey of railfreight companies to gather their views on non-discriminatory access to rail networks and local delivery services. The response rate of 90% and the numerous comments show that these topics are of central importance.
Although most of the companies surveyed are satisfied with the situation, there is potential for improvement in various areas. Railcom is planning to introduce a "round table" to continue the debate. The survey covered 18 of a total of 20 railfreight companies operating on the Swiss standard gauge network. (ben)
