Rotterdam-Moscow rail shuttle relaunched
For the first time since 2005, customers can again use a direct rail connection between Rotterdam and Moscow. The reintroduced shuttle, operated by Russian transport company Smartcontainer, will link the Dutch port and the Russian capital by one round trip per week.
The Rotterdam-Moscow train departs every Thursday from the rail service centre in Rotterdam and will reach its final destination, the railway terminals Selyatino and Vorsino near Moscow, seven days later, after a stop in Brest in Belarus.
The train consists of twenty 90' wagons that can handle a combination of different containers. Smartcontainer is part of the Russian Delo Group. (ben)
