Roman Fürtig follows Stefan Kunze
Roman Fürtig is to head the port of Hamburg's HHM representative office Germany East. The graduate historian and political scientist replaces Stefan Kunze, who will be retiring at the end of April. Fürtig will manage the port’s marketing activities in Eastern Germany from Berlin and be the contact person for members and companies in this region.
In Berlin, Fürtig will also exchange information on the port with members of Germany’s federal parliament and government.
Over the past 20 years, Fürtig has worked as a scientific advisor and office manager for Hamburg members of the federal parliament, particularly in matters concerning the port of Hamburg and its hinterland transport. He also helped to shape the overall strategy plan for the Elbe River for water resources management, environmental protection, and inland navigation. (cj)
