Roland Spedition mourns Johannes Blanka
Johannes Blanka (photo), a former managing director of Roland Spedition, died on 12 November 2020 from a coronavirus infection.
Blanka shaped the company from its foundation in 1982. He was an essential figure in the strategic changes of the business, from freight forwarder to container operator, and promoted the formation of partnerships.
He first joined Roland Spedition as general manager and later, in 2002, stepped down from his role of managing director to begin his retirement. He supported and advised the two young new managing directors, Christian Gutjahr and Nikolaus Hirnschall, during that generation change at the head of the company.
Roland Spedition’s team bid him farewell. “We'll miss Johannes Blanka. Our heartfelt condolences go to his family and friends.” (amh)
