Ro-ro JV by Noatum and Erkport
Noatum Maritime, part of the AD Ports Group, has entered into a partnership with the Turkish firm Erkport to launch ‘United Global Ro-Ro’, a joint venture aimed at expanding vehicle logistics and high and heavy cargo transportation. Noatum holds a 60% stake, while Erkport owns 40%.
Strategically positioned to link key automotive hubs, the JV will enhance ro-ro shipping in Europe, the Mediterranean, South Africa, the Arabian Gulf and Asia. It will integrate regional feeder networks and thus increase efficiency and market reach. Operations will commence with eleven vessels, including con-ro, PCTC and ro-ro carriers.
The partnership leverages Noatum’s global network and Erkport’s ro-ro expertise to optimise logistics and transit times. Leaders from both firms highlight the venture’s potential to drive industry innovation, improve service quality and expand ro-ro shipping solutions globally. (ah)
