Ro-mo picks up speed again
Tyrol and ÖBB are pursuing their shared goal of shifting more freight traffic to the eco-friendly railways, despite the challenging circumstances. The ÖBB affiliate Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has further increased its ro-mo services on the Wörgl–Trento route between Austria and Italy.
The service on the Brenner route now operates with one twinset a day again. Hence, transport companies have a choice of six round trips per week on this route, which is double the current offer, RCG said.
The carrier operates the Austrian-Italian cross-border connection from a terminal in Wörgl, in addition to the connection to the Brenner Pass. Services on this route had to be greatly reduced because of the corona pandemic. (ben)
