Ribbon cutting ceremony for upgraded NCB3

With an investment of USD 48 million, Port Canaveral renovated its North Cargo Berth 3 (NCB3), one of the port’s oldest piers, originally constructed in 1976: it officially opened for business after a ribbon cutting ceremony on 30 June 2023.

The Florida state department of transportation contributed USD 33 million in state grant funding, and the Canaveral Port Authority (CPA) invested USD 14 million for the Port Canaveral cargo berth rehabilitation and modernisation project.

NCB3 is transformed into a multi-user multipurpose facility, which "is an investment in building the strongest possible economy here in Brevard County for our community," said CPA chairman Kevin Markey.

Port Canaveral is continuing its strategy to boost the economy of the region and Florida with the launch of the next phase of an ambitious berth modernisation project. The demolition and rebuilding of North Cargo Berth 4, with a budget of USD 37 million, will begin this month. (lh)
