Rhenus snaps up Interfracht
Consolidation in the Swiss logistics sector continues. The Interfracht Group has been taken over by the Swiss company Rhenus Alpina, with retroactive effect from 1 January 2020.
Interfracht, a family-owned company founded in 1965 and based in Pratteln, close to Basel, is the official partner of the Cargo Line Network in Switzerland and offers daily scheduled services within Europe. In Asia, it has its own offices in China and Vietnam.
The current integration involves all legal and operational entities of Interfracht Speditions AG, Interfracht Logistik AG, Interfracht Overseas Ltd and Intertruck GmbH. Interfracht operates as a global freight and logistics group.
The brand Interfracht will be kept until further notice. As a Cargo Line member, Interfracht offers Rhenus’s road business in Switzerland opportunities to expand. Rhenus Alpina will retain all 211 employees of the purchased company. (mw)
