Rhenus opens logistics centre in Voronezh
The Rhenus Group has opened a new logistics facility in Voronezh in the southern part of central Russia. The move is connected to the launch of the Rhenus Silk Way project. The business site will focus on developing dedicated transport and logistics solutions for customers in the agricultural sector.
The logistics centre has a 20,000 sqm warehouse with a cool section for storing goods that perish quickly and 2,500 sqm of office space.
Olaf Metzger, managing director of Rhenus Freight Logistics: “We believe there’s huge potential in the Voronezh district for us to establish ourselves as a logistics partner for trade and industry. We particularly want to provide support for our customers’ developments in the agricultural sector.”
A special economic zone is currently being established in Voronezh at the moment to attract metal-processing industrial companies. (mw)
