Rhenus grows in Belgium
Rhenus Partnership is expanding its reach into Belgium by acquiring DGA Shipping, thus enhancing its services on the river Rhine. Rhenus previously held 45% of DGA; now it owns 100%, following the sale of shares by HGK Shipping, which is reallocating its investments.
DGA Shipping, which is based in Antwerp, specialises in inland waterway shipping in Belgium and the ARA region, offering diverse transport services using its own fleet and external capacity.
The acquisition strengthens Rhenus' position in the market, allows for greater flexibility and efficiency in serving customers and provides access to DGA’s extensive network. With this deal, Rhenus aims to bolster its competitive edge as it seeks to lead in the Belgian market, with no impact on DGA's employees or ongoing operations. (pb)
