Rhenus builds hall at the Danube port in Krems

In the Danube port in Krems (Austria), Rhenus can now load and unload containers in weatherproof conditions. After three months of construction, the port logistics services provider has inaugurated a 1,700 sqm lightweight hall. 17 m high and anchored on a concrete base, it is equipped with a full gantry crane mounted on crane rails.

With a span of 20 m, a lifting capacity of 10 t and a hook height of 7.50 m, the indoor gantry crane can efficiently handle long products such as steel pipes and profiles and deposit them on high storage racks.

The new warehouse is immediately adjacent to the Metrans container terminal so that reach stackers can be used to move cargo quickly between the hall and the container terminal. (mw)
