Rhenus and E-Dentic develop new loading solution
The Rhenus Group has collaborated with the French start-up E-Dentic to develop a solution at its logistics centre in Rade, near Hamburg (Germany), to make loading procedures safer and more transparent through Bluetooth devices and video cameras, thus ensuring 100% shipping quality and preventing human errors.
30 beacons that transmit a constant Bluetooth signal have been installed at loading gates, with the signal integrated in Rhenus’ warehouse management system, and forklift trucks have been equipped with Wi-Fi cameras.
The solution automatically validates and documents the loading process, thus making it safer and more transparent for customers at all times. The decision to implement the system in Rade was down to the fact that hazardous goods are stored there and thus particularly high security standards apply there. (mw)
