Samer Majali has been elected as vice chairman of Royal Jordanian, assuming the role of president/CEO as of 30 March.
He began working at Royal Jordanian in 1979 and held top executive positions across flight operations, corporate planning, information technology, passenger services, engineering and maintenance. He was president/CEO from 2001 to 2009.
In 2009, Majali became CEO of Bahrain's national carrier Gulf Air, and between 2013 and 2019, he served as CEO of Saudi Gulf Airlines. His latest tenure was founding Plane Vision, a corporate strategy & organisation advisory in Bahrain.
Majali was also an active member of international organisations in the aviation industry (Iata) and beyond (Central Bank of Jordan), in addition to other professional affiliations. (amh)
