Reico in new hands
The newly-established companies DSS Logistik and DSS Nutzfahrzeug Service, based in Zossen (Germany), are taking over business operations of Reico Spedition, an insolvent forwarding entity, and ASB, a car and brake service provider. The move ensures that 111 jobs at Reico and ASB will be kept. The insolvency administrator Torben Ottmar Herbold was able to continue business activities without restrictions.
Reico specialized in temperature-controlled logistics, plant logistics, groupage and scheduled transport, fulfilment and in-house services. The assets included more than 50,000 sqm of covered storage space and 200 own trucks.
The DSS firms are managed by partners Devran and Sinan Sönmez, sons of Osman Sönmez who founded the forwarder, BOS Spedition, in Reico's premises in 1991. Osman Sönmez currently employs 100 people in Berlin and specializes in temperature-controlled transport. The managing directors hope for synergy effects arising from a close collaboration between the family firms. (mw)
