Regulatory approval for Ipsen takeover

The responsible antitrust authorities in Germany and Austria have now given their approval to the takeover of Ipsen Logistics by Gebürder Weiss, which was inked at the end of July. The takeover will now legally be implemented as of 1 October.

The Austrian logistics giant takes over the 180 employees of Ipsen that are spread across eight locations. While Ipsen’s locations in Germany will begin operating immediately under the Gebrüder Weiss brand, the plan is for the national companies in Belgium, Malaysia and Poland to change their names at the turn of the year 2020/21. Lothar Thoma, managing director air & sea at Gebrüder Weiss: “It is our aim to further develop our air and sea freight services together.” (sh)
