Reducing delivery time from 36 to three months
Since many school districts are looking for ways to deliver devices to children to assist with e-learning, Alaska Air Cargo and its network recently moved 12,000+ iPads and cases from Boston to Seattle that will go to Seattle Public Schools (SPS) students.
Last year, SPS launched a programme to provide a laptop or iPad for each student, distributing over 25,000 devices to schools beginning with high school and middle school students, students experiencing poverty and or homelessness, and any other students who did not have access to a device at home.
Due to the pandemic, SPS have accelerated that programme from a three year roll-out to just under three months, so K-2nd graders have the same opportunity - and Alaska Air Cargo turned out to be the missing link they needed to deliver the goods. (ah)
