Reaching out across the Irish Sea

Merseyside logistics provider SSO Logistics will receive a seven-figure investment from two Irish freight companies, enabling it to enhance its warehousing and distribution operations.

In this new partnership, Irish Freight Solutions (IFS) and Allied Fleet Services (AFS), which both have established networks in Ireland, are coming together to expand logistics services in the country. IFS, headquartered in Bolton, grew from a start-up to achieving a turnover of GBP 11 million last year.

Armagh-based AFS has been able to navigate post-Brexit trade regulations to develop a customs service portfolio. Leveraging its investors’ networks, SSO can now ensure a smoother transit of goods and facilitated customs processes, providing these solutions in the northwest, where it has freeport status, and in the rest of the UK.
