Ramping up operations in Asia-Pacific
The e-commerce platform iHerb is teaming up with Alibaba’s logistics arm, Cainiao, to expand its activities in Hong Kong and boost its fulfilment capacity in response to a growing demand for its vitamins, minerals and supplements in the Asia-Pacific region.
iHerb’s recently relocated GDC is operated by Cainiao and situated just 500 m away from Hong Kong International Airport Cargo Terminal. Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is accessible within 2 km.
The collaboration is set to help the platform attain the capacity to process 15,000 orders daily, thus fortifying its market presence in the region. Cainiao’s high-density automated storage and picking solution will also help to optimise efficiency and delivery times, iHerb said. (mk)
