RAL-Eimskip cooperation is operational
Icelandic shipping company Eimskip and Greenland’s national carrier Royal Arctic Line (RAL), have put their new joint service into operation. RAL‘s new vessel “Tukuma Arctica” currently sails from Denmark to Iceland.
Eimskip’s new vessel “Dettifoss”, built in China, will join the co-operation from early July when she sets sail from Aarhus to Iceland. It is estimated that Eimskip’s second newbuilding, “Brúarfoss”, will be in service by the end of next October.
As of then, the co-operation with RAL will take off in full as originally intended with three vessels on a weekly schedule. Eimskip will operate the red line and “Dettifoss” and “Tukuma Arctica” will service Iceland and Greenland with port calls in Aalborg and Aarhus in Denmark and Helsingborg in Sweden. (mw)
