Raising capacities in the Netherlands


Dnata, a Dubai-headquartered global air and travel services provider is planning to invest more than EUR 200 million in a fully automated cargo centre, "dnata cargo city Amsterdam", at Amsterdam Airport.

 

Located at Schiphol South-East and scheduled to become operational in 2024, the 61,000 sqm facility will include increased, 19,000 sqm warehouse space and be able to process more than 850,000 t of cargo annually. It will comply with industry standards and ensure the handling of all types of cargo, including perishables, pharmaceuticals, dangerous goods, mail, live animals, aircraft engines and vehicles.

 

The hub will be equipped with two separate automated storage and retrieval systems (Lödige Industries), for import and export with twelve stacker cranes. Up to 2,500 pallets will be stored here. (ah)
