Railway to market its services directly in China
From the beginning of 2023 the ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) will strengthen its market position in Eurasia with the newly-founded subsidiary Rail Cargo International Freight Forwarding, based in Shanghai.
The subsidiary will enable the rail freight operator to offer its entire logistics value chain, including additional forwarding services in Asia, directly from its own source.
According to RCG, the central corridor of the New Silk Road is to be increasingly marketed. It runs through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and across the Black Sea to Romania and on to Central Europe. The route bypasses Russia. (ben)
