Railway brings Chinese e-cars to Russia
The electric vehicles travelled by direct train in universal 40-foot containers from Shengdu in south-west China to Selyatino, southwest of Moscow.
Responsible for the transport along the entire journey, RZD Logistics first transferred the vehicles from the warehouse to the terminal in Chengdu using car transporters and loaded them into containers, which were then put onto the railway and carried directly to the railway station in Selyatino. RZDL also handled customs clearance and various terminal services.
The company expects car transports from China to increase. In the first nine months of 2023, five times more cars were imported from China to Russia than in the same period in 2022. (ben)
