Rail service links Turkey to Rotterdam and Zeebrugge
P&O Ferrymasters has launched new intermodal services from the Turkish ports of Pendik, Ambarli and Mersin to Trieste free port (Italy).
The new link, which provides six departures per week in both directions, will connect with rail links from the port of Trieste to P&O Ferries’ continental hubs at Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Zeebrugge (Belgium), with transit times of less than a week between Turkey and Europe’s principal logistics hubs.
P&O Ferrymasters says it will transport hazardous cargoes with a payload of up to 25 t. The company is actually planning more new trade lanes as it expects Turkey to evolve into an important hub. (ben)
