Rail Forum Europe picks new president and vice-president
Following the elections to the European Parliament, a call for the appointment of a new managing board for Rail Forum Europe was launched in October this year. The conclusion of the call procedure designated Andrey Novakov (EPP, Bulgaria) as president and Anna Deparnay-Grunenberg (Green Party, Germany) as vice-president of the RFE association for the period 2019-2024.
Dominique Riquet (RenewEU, France) and Cesar Luena (S&D, Spain) take two other positions in the new RFE managing board. Novakov became a member of the European Parliament in 2014, one of the youngest MEPs ever to serve the institution.
Currently, he is EPP coordinator in the committee of regional development and a member of two other committees - the committee on transport and tourism and the committee on budgetary control. Deparnay-Grunenberg has been a MEP since July 2019 and has a seat in the committees on transport and tourism and agriculture and rural development. (mw)
