Rail and port join forces in Baltimore
Under a new partnership the US class I railway CSX will manage transport, and the port logistician Amports will provide handling services for containers, at the Atlantic Terminal in Baltimore MD (USA). The move will help ensure smooth transitions between rail and port. The Atlantic Terminal enables seamless services along the I-95 corridor between Florida and Baltimore.
The agreement represents the third rail partnership Amports has established with a major railroad company in the USA. The company has rail services in North Dallas TX and Buffalo NY, where it is the yard management partner for Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and Norfolk Southern Railway (NS). (ben)
