Quiet engines for heavy goods traffic

Rolling stock lessor Northrail has added seven diesel-electric universal locomotives from Vossloh to its fleet. The vehicles have been leased to DB Cargo for an initial three years and are already in service. With their high operational flexibility, they are designed for heavy shunting and freight transport in Germany.

The modern four-axle locomotive is characterised by low noise emissions in accordance with TSI Noise, which sets uniform noise limits throughout Europe. It is said to be very economical and reliable.

Northrail is part of the Paribus Group and has, among other things, a pool of 160 locomotives and 55 battery multiple units. (ben)
